Jacqueline Fernandez is a Sri Lankan actor from Manama, Bahrain and was raised in a multi-ethnic home. Jacqueline's dad Elroy Fernandez is an Sri Lankan. She has two elder brothers as well as two younger brothers. The 80s were the time when her parents emigrated to Bahrain in protest against the civil war in Sri Lanka. This is why she was born and raised there. After finishing the schooling in Bahrain she was awarded the Scholarship at the University of Sydney to pursue a Media and Communications Degree in Sydney, Australia. Having a passion for cultures and languages she also joined the Berlitz school of languages where she learned to speak Spanish and improve her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 won Miss Universe 2006 competition in March 2006. She also was also crowned Miss Universe 2006 also. As a result of winning Miss Sri Lanka in 2006, Padukone began working on television. She was the host of the program Lanka Business Report which focused on Sri Lankan Business. Padukone (the mother of the badminton player Prakash Padukone) was born and raised in Bangalore. When she was a teen, Padukone was a participant in numerous championships for national badminton. She eventually gave up playing when she made the decision to be a professional fashion model. Padukone comes from Mangalore and her mother language is Konkani. Her family ancestors are from the town of Padukone in Kundapura Taluk, in the Udupi district of Karnataka state in India. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is an international champion in badminton who has now retired. Her mom is a traveling agent.
